ABOUT

My parents, being practical people, decided that the second A in “Aaron” was redundant; but it wasn’t until thirteen years later that I discovered that with the double A, the name transliterates the Hebrew name of the hero from Exodus (”Ah-hah-ron” to A-a-ron), while with the single A, it transliterates the Hebrew word for “closet.”

I graduated in 2006 from UC Berkeley, where I majored in Chinese and biology and cartooned for every publication that would have me.  Following that, I worked in China teaching English at a college in Jishou, a city of 250,000 in Hunan Province through a Princeton in Asia fellowship. I’m currently based in sunny San Francisco, where I split my leisure time between my garden and my Wacom tablet.  You can get in touch at bothman[at]gmail.com. Thanks for visiting!
