There are three quince trees in my backyard.  When we moved into the house, we didn’t know what they were, and kept wondering when the pears were going to ripen.  By the second year we’d figured it out, and spent the summer making lots and lots of membrillo.  This was an initial pass at fruit/vegetable illustration in advance of the McSweeney’s project.  This one was gouache and ink, which was fun.
